PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  March 13, 2020

United Way of St. Clair County will not have their Annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast.

United Way of St. Clair County (UWSCC) will not be holding the annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast at Freighters Eatery & Taproom in Port Huron on March 17, 2020.  In a March 11th press release, Dr. Annette Mercatante, Medical Health Officer of the St. Clair County Health Department, emphasized; “The Health Department is recommending event organizers, agencies and others to reevaluate hosting large events, meetings, or gatherings to help limit the spread of illness.  The slower the virus is able to spread, the less impact and burden it will have on our community.”  Therefore, “in consideration of public safety and the recommendation from the St. Clair County Health Department, we have decided not to host our annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast fundraiser that was planned for next Tuesday,” Doug Dolph, UWSCC Executive Director, explained.

UWSCC’s other springtime fundraising efforts, the St. Patrick’s Day Raffle, is still on with an extension for sales.  Tickets are only $2 each and available in the UWSCC office, 1723 Military Street in Port Huron, Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 4:30pm.  Please call the office, (810) 985-8169, prior to stopping in for tickets.  To make tickets more accessible, they are now available online for $2.10 each through April 20, 2020.  A complete prize list can be viewed at www.uwstclair.org/EventsRafflesDeals.  The drawing will be held at Freighters on April 21st at 9:40am; ticket holders need not be present to win.
